Open China calls for open education while open education requires open-minded educational administrators. NAEA attaches great importance to learning from advanced experiences abroad in preparing the country¡¯s educational administrators, which is the core mission of NAEA. It started international education exchanges and co-operation activities in the late 1980s and has successfully implemented several projects funded successively by CIDA, UNDP, UNESCO, ADB and the World Bank on training and improvement of both higher and basic education administrators. The capacity of research and teaching of NAEA faculty has been greatly enhanced.
In the past decade NAEA has established friendly relationship with universities of USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Japan, Korea and Hong Kong SAR. Activities like exchange of scholars, collaborative research and jointly held international conference, etc. are undertaken actively. Since 2003 NAEA has actively participated in implementing Overseas Training Project for University Leaders which is launched with joint effort by the Ministry of Education and the State Administration for Foreign Experts Affairs, and has began to send groups of Chinese university leaders to participate in topical seminars and study visits. These programs will certainly broaden the participants international perspectives and enhance their leadership and management skills.
NAEA extends its warm welcome to international counterparts who are willing to work together to make significant contribution to educational development in the 21st century.
