The Cooperative Intermediate Training Program Held by NAEA and Philippine Chinese Education Research Center in Manila Successfully Achieved

After successfully held ¡°Elementary Training Program for Administrators of Philippine Chinese Schools¡±, NAEA conducted the ¡°Intermediate Training Program for Administrators of Philippine Chinese Schools¡± in Manila from 21 to 30 April, 2003. The opening ceremony was held on April 21. At the ceremony, Mr. Yan Chang Cheng, president of Philippine Chinese Education Research Center and president of Philippine Cultural High School, addressed salutatory while Dr. Zhuang Zhongjian, managing director of Philippine Cultural High School and director of Philippine Chongji Hospital, delivered a speech. Xue Yafei, vice-president of NAEA, ardently congratulated the opening of the training program on behalf of NAEA at the ceremony. In addition, NAEA gave traditional Chinese souvenir to Philippine Chinese Education Research Center.

All together 28 administrators from 18 schools and kindergartens in Great Manila attended the training program. The training program involved comparison of management between Chinese and American high and elementary schools, school management psychology and mental health education, Chinese culture and traditional Chinese moral, etc.

Due to the impact of SARS, the teaching arrangement of ¡°Intermediate Training Program for Administrators of Philippine Chinese Education Research Center¡± was adjusted through negotiation. With great effort of teachers sent to Manila by NAEA, the training program was successfully completed.

During the training session, NAEA and Philippine Chinese Education Research Center discussed about ¡°Advanced Training Program for Administrators of Philippine Chinese Education Research Center¡± to be held in Beijing in 2004.
