University Leaders Attending Overseas Seminars Left for France and Canada

The participants attending ¡°University Teaching Management and Academic Discipline Construction & Research and Technology Transfer Seminar¡± conducted in France & Germany and attending¡°University Organizational Structure, Operational Mechanism and Presidential Leadership Seminar¡±conducted in Canada left for the destination on May 28th 2005. The seminars are organized by National Academy of Education Administration.

Prior to their leaving, the participants took part in a 5-day pre-training at National Academy of Education Administration. They heard key addresses made by Wu Qidi, Vice Minister of Chinese Ministry of Education and Chen Yangjin, Deputy Director of State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs on opening ceremony. Also, they heard important remarks presented by Yu Jiaqing, Executive Vice President of National Academy of Education Administration. In addition, they attended the relevant workshops. The 5-day pre-training helped them understand the importance, goal, requirement, content and study plan of the training program.

According to the teaching plan, the seminars are classified into three phases. The first is domestic pre-training from May 23rd to 27th. The participants learned the teaching plan, study requirements and foreign affairs discipline; read relevant material and attended lectures and workshops to get the brief idea about the overseas host countries and relevant knowledge. They were classified into groups and each group was assigned specific tasks. The second phase is overseas training from May 28th to June 25th. The participants will take part in specialized courses, on-the-spot fact-finding and case studies. The third phase is summing-up from June 26th to 28th. The participants will draft overseas training and fact-finding reports as well as prepare to summarize and exchange learning achievements.
