The 2008 Overseas Training Program for University Leaders Held in Australia & New Zealand Successfully Concluded


On April 1, 2008, the delegation of Overseas Program for Chinese University Leaders returned to Beijing after three- weeks¡¯ training and visits in Australia & New Zealand.

The delegation contains of 26 participants, including 21 Presidents or Vice Presidents of higher education institutions and 5 officials from Ministry of Education, the Organization Department of CCCPC and NAEA. During the overseas training period, centering on the theme "University Research and Teaching Management: Quality and Innovation¡±, the delegation participated intensive workshops respectively held by University of Sydney and University of Melbourne, enjoyed study tours to Australian National University, the University of Western Sydney, New Zealand Massey University, Victoria University, the University of Auckland, and other research institutions and universities in the above two countries. Both the workshops and visits provide participating Chinese university leaders very good opportunities to know about the administrative experience and practice of Australian universities as well as enjoy extensive and in-depth exchanges with their Australian colleagues. The program is seen successful both in organization and results.

Under the co-direction of Ministry of Education and State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, this program is executed by NAEA and with the collaboration of Australia China Culture & Education Exchange Center in Australia.
